Landon's Room

Well we have been working on putting Landon's room together! Here are a few pics of what we have done! I love it! The only thing I would change is the walls! I don't like white walls, but we are renting and figured it would be a waste of time to paint! Let me know what ya think!

This is Landon's crib! The bedding is black and cream toile! I love it!
I painted these letters to go behind it! They are also sanded for a super cute effect!

Here is a picture wall! I bought these 3 frames, they are still in need of pictures! Paul and I thought it would be perfect to place the "I am a child of God" above the frames!

This is a toy bag that came with the bedding! We decided to put some animals in it! We love them! We also added the let's play above the toy bag....the wall was kinda plain without it!

This is a sign I made for his room! I think it describes a little boy perfectly! Don't you?! This is a shelf in Landon's Room...I made the blocks and the all boy sign. Paul and I also bought him a piggy bank!

Valentine's Weekend...Sweet Husband

So, this is a little late, but I wanted to wait until I got pics loaded on the computer! I have such a sweet husband! On Valentine's Day we didn't really do much except eat breakfast and dinner together because Paul had blocks (exams). On Friday morning, I was playing a game with Paul's dad and afterwards he told me to go pack, and that Paul and I were going away for the weekend, and wouldn't be back until Monday. I was shocked and confused at the sam time, because Paul's dad had came to Vegas to visit us for the weekend. Anyways, I went upstairs, got ready and started packing. At first I thought we were going to Utah...because it was the UNLV/BYU basketball game and he really wanted to go. I asked Paul's dad what kind of clothes I needed to pack, and he said the weather is the same as here(Vegas) so I ruled out Utah! Paul got home from school and we loaded up the Pathfinder, and drove away! We were heading towards Cali! I was so excited! On our way there we stopped at the outlet mall in Primm, caught some great deals at Williams Sonoma, Banana Republic, and Hollister! 3 hrs later, we arrived in Costa Mesa, Cali....right outside of Newport. We had a very fun weekend filled with lots of shopping, good eating, a little bit of Disney, Balboa Island, and checking out the Newport Temple. We found TONS of cute stuff for little Landon! I can't wait for him to come! We also discovered a few new favorite stores such as Baby Style, Crate and Barrel, and Pottery Barn Kids! I'm so grateful that Paul planned this much needed trip! I had so much fun...I'd love to do it every few months! Thanks Honey for such a fun weekend!

Tomorrow!

Tomorrow marks 9 weeks to go of my pregnancy! I am so excited! I have really been trying to keep myself busy lately, so the time is flying! As most of you know, we've had a roommate for the past 6 months. He just moved out, and we've finally been able to start decorating our nursery! I have been working very hard on making decorations for Landon's room! I still have 2 or 3 more things to make before I am satisfied! Probably by the end of the week I will post pictures of it! I love the room, it has black and cream toile bedding, black crib, LANDON letters behind the crib, a toy bag w/ cute little animals in it that we bought at baby gap, black picture frames, vinyl lettering on the walls...I love it! The only thing I would change is the walls. We are renting our townhome right now, so I really don't feel like painting, knowing that when we move out, we will have to paint it back! I really hate white walls! Oh well! I'll make do! Paul and I also spent this past Saturday washing all of the baby clothes we had bought, and received at my shower in Utah! We hung them up according to size! It's so fun getting ready for Landon to come! I can't wait!!! I just need to stay busy to kill the time! 9 weeks from tomorrow!

Oh Clumsy Day!

So today I really felt pregnant! I've never been so clumsy in 30 minutes! We had family in town, and I thought it would be nice to get up really early to make breakfast. We got a new waffle maker the other day and I thought I'd try it out! I was making 2 kinds of waffles, berry and pumpkin pecan. I decided to make the berry one first. First of all, with out defrosting the berries (and there were some big ones in the package) I put them in the batter. Paul told me they wouldn't cook unless I defrosted them. So I took them out of the batter and stuck them in the microwave. I pored them back in the mixing bowl and onto the waffle maker. I aparently poured too much!!! Batter was coming out of all sides and onto the counter =(. I was so fed up, I had Paul come and finish the berry waffles. I proceded to make the pumpkin pecan waffles. The recipe said to put butter, milk, and egg in a separate bowl and mix....I grabbed the bowl to mix, and spilled the mixture all over the kitchen. I just cried....I finished makind the batter then had Paul finish the waffles. I couldn't take it anymore! Even though the process was a pain....they came out very tasty!

President Hinkley

Today at church in our ward bulletin, the following poem was posted. We loved it so much, we thought we'd share it with you all.

I imagine he’s running to Marjorie now,
Yes, running, not waving his cane.
I see him embracing his father and mother
While they keep repeating his name.

I see him now meeting his forebears,
Brother Brigham and Joseph are there.
Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service
That only such noble men share.

I see him embraced by the Savior
While Father says, “Good and well done.
So faithful in stalwart endurance, I welcome
My noble, most excellent son.”

I then hear the ripples of laughter
As he says the reception’s just fine,
But he hopes that he’ll get an assignment or two
Since there’s no need to waste any time.

I hear his clear voice in the stillness
At the close of this sweet Sabbath day,
Have faith and move forward - there’s work to be done.
President Hinkley would want it that way.

We really loved this poem about President Hinkley. Today in fast and testimony meeting, many people brought up this point; we didn't lose President Hinkley, he just went home for a while. What great great comfort and joy the gospel brings me to know that death is not the end. It's so great to know that when we do lose those who are very special in our lives, we will one day be reunited with them again, just as President Hinkley was reunited with his sweet wife.

Yay!

First of all I wanted to say thanks to those who came to my scrapbook party last night! It was a huge success! It was fun hanging out with the girls, making crafts! It reminded me of our ward back in Provo! I got tons of new scrapbook stuff! I can't wait for it to arrive, and to play with it all! It will be like a little kid on Christmas morning! Anyways, I am so proud of myself! I had today completely off...no work, no plans made, nothing! Normally I would just love days like today to relax, watch movies, and eat all day. But, instead I got tons of stuff accomplished! Last night I got my first two customers for vinyl signs. (For those of you who don't know I make signs, with a saying of choice, and after last night, I think I've finally motivated myself to make and sell!) So today, I got those pretty much done, I did the laundry, made super cute thank you cards for those who went to my shower in Utah, filled them out, addressed them and stamped them, I made decorations for the nursery, cooked a really nice dinner, made dessert, and cleaned the kitchen. As London Tipton from "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" would say, "Yay Me!!!" (I love the Disney Channel, for those of you who don't know...I'm a dork!) It really feels so good to do things aroud the house, and to be motivated to do things you've always wanted to do, but have been too lazy to actually do! Now, I somehow want to learn how to make my own website so I can sell my crafts that I've made on it! If any of you know how to do this, can you please let me know?!
