Cali Trip...not quite like we planned!

I have been so busy! I haven't had time to post pics from our cali trip! That was about 2.5weeks ago! We planned our Cali trip about a month before we took it, with our friends Adam and Lisa and their son Zack. We had planned on going to the beach, Disneyland...a few days, Costa Mesa Mall, Fashion Island, Balboa Island and possibly a baseball game! Super Fun... huh?! Well things didn't go quite as planned! Well about a month before our trip I was in the ER for gallstones and I was told to meet with a surgeon to get my gallbladder removed. I had gone to my Dr to get a referral to a surgeon. The surgeons said they never received my referral. After a month of trying to contact them about surgery, I ended up in the ER again. I was in the ER the Tuesday before our trip (we left on Thursday). The ER doc released me after being there for about 5 hrs. He wouldn't remove my gallbladder. Wednesday I was feeling fine, a little sore, but I could get by. Thursday morning came and it was time to leave for our trip. I felt fine. We got to Primm outlet mall about a half hour after we left. I wasn't feeling good, so I told Paul I just wanted to get in the car and drive to our hotel so I could sleep. You know I'm not feeling well when I don't want to shop! We arrived to our hotel and I slept for 2 hrs while Paul went and got our friends from the airport. I still didn't feel better! I was thinking I needed to eat, so we went to Cheesecake Factory and got some dinner. I ate maybe 4 bites. I was not feeling good at all. Paul had this brilliant idea...he thought I was constipated (too much info...sorry), so he had Adam get me some Exlax on his trip to target. I took it and didn't feel better. Paul was wrong! I soaked in the tub afterwards because my whole body just ached.  We went to bed, I woke up around 5 am and I was stiff as a board! I soaked in the tub again and went back to bed. Around 9 am Paul, Landon, Adam and I went to breakfast. I think I ate 3 little bites of fruit and was full. When we got back, Lisa called and asked what time I wanted to go shopping? I said noon. Noon came and I still wasn't feeling better! Adam said "Don't be mad, but we are taking you to the hospital. We found the best one in Newport and we are taking you." So I took a quick shower and we arrived at HOAG Hospital around 1:30pm. I got a bed in the ER about 30 minutes after our arrival. They put me on pain meds and drew blood right away, because I was in so much pain!!! About 2 hrs after being there, the nurse did an ultrasound. An hr after, blood results and ultrasound results came back. I had pancreatitis, which means one of my gall stones was blocking my bile duct, causing bile not to drain into my pancreas. The Dr told me I'd be staying at the hospital to have surgery...my gallbladder was going to be removed. Saturday morning came and my enzyme number wasn't low enough to perform the surgery, so the Dr said I had to wait. On Saturday my cousin Samantha came and visited me in the hospital, along with my parents who drove down to help take care of Landon, and of course Adam, Lisa and Zack. Saturday night The Masons and us played games, blockus and parcheeze. It was lots of fun, and I was also informed that my surgery would be on Sunday morning at 9 am. Sunday morning came pretty fast. 9 am came and I was still in my room. The Dr came in and informed me that there was an emergency brain surgery and it would be 1-3 more hours until my surgery. At 11:30 am the nurses came and got me and rolled me into surgery. About 2 hrs later I woke up. I was wheeled back into my room where Paul, Landon, my mom and dad, and the Masons were waiting for me. It felt good to see everybody and I was so grateful that they were all there with me. I've never had surgery before, so it was a scary thing for me. Sunday night we played more games in the hospital room and Monday morning at 11:30 I was released!

This is Zack feeding Landon before we went to the hospital. He's such a good helper.
Landon on the couch in our hotel room.
The amazing view from my hospital room...Newport Beach
Me playing with Landon in the hospital room...he was such a good baby!
Lisa and Zack ...he's such a cute and funny kid!
The first place we went when I was released was Fashion Island to do some shopping. I was still in pain so I was in a wheel chair! After Fashion Island we went to South Coast Plaza to do more shopping!
On Tuesday we went to Disneyland! I was still in a wheelchair, which meant front of the line! It was nice, but we didn't go on many rides because most rides are jerky, and that would put me in more pain than I was already in. This is us on the Jungle Cruise. It was Landon's first ride and first time on a boat.
This is us in front of the castle!
Here's our crew on the Casey Jr. ride. It was Landon's first train ride!
Adam put lots of sunscreen on his nose so he wouldn't get burned!
Lanier Family in front of the L at Disney California!
Paul and Adam after a water ride! Lisa and I stayed with the kiddos while they went on this ride...twice! They sure loved it!
This is Landon at the end of our Disney day. It got chilli so I put a sweater on him. It was his first time wearing a sweater. Doesn't he look cute!?!
So our Disney trip didn't go quite as planned but we still had lots of fun, and we were still able to do some things that we had planned! We had a really great time and lots of fun hanging out with our friends! We left on Wednesday. On our way out I had a follow up appt with the surgeon. After my appointment we went to a pottery barn outlet! It was amazing! We decided to redecorate our room and bathroom! We found cute stuff at a really great deal! After that we headed to Ft Irwin. Paul got his clothing for his Army training in Texas there. After being there for a few hours we finally headed home. We arrived around 10:30pm and we were exhausted!

Oh my goodness! I'm sorry your trip didn't turn out as planned. That would be hard being in the hospital that far from home. Hopefully you're recovering okay. You're so cute and positive about everything though. Please call me while Paul is gone and we'll hang out!

I'm glad you made the best of it. I hope you're feeling better now and doing okay without Paul around. That's never fun. Keep busy
